Need for Services
Did you know that in a 2005 pilot study of Miami GLBTQ youth 46% had experienced suicidal ideation and 23% had attempted suicide? Did you know that 57% struggled with substance abuse and 99% experienced verbal and/or physical harassment? In a follow up research study conducted in 2007, over 34% had been kicked out of their home between 1 to 7 times, 72% wanted help dealing with stress and 66% needed an adult to talk with about GLBTQ issues. As a result, The Alliance for GLBTQ Youth strives to provide quality programs and coordinate services to the GLBTQ community.
Through the creation of a comprehensive system of care (funded by The Children’s Trust and the United Way of Miami Dade), we offer:

· Individual & Group Counseling
· Community Resource Referral
· Free STD & HIV Testing
· Education & Prevention
